Food PantryCOOL Food Pantry in Waukegan, Illinois serves over 6,000 Lake County residents monthly, providing a four-day supply of balanced meals based on family size. Visitors can return every 30 days if the need continues, with proof of identity required. The pantry offers items for special dietary needs, including sugar-free, gluten-free, and baby items, with limited emergency diapers and formula available. Guests receive fresh or frozen protein and, when available, fresh produce, bread, and bakery items. Visits are typically completed within 15 minutes. Family HousingCOOL Housing, established in 1988, supports homeless families by providing temporary housing and resources to help them achieve self-sufficiency. While in the program, families work with a case manager to improve education, job skills, budgeting, and personal growth. Veterans AssistanceCOOL Food Pantries provide additional help daily to food stamp eligible veterans. Qualified veterans receive a large grocery box loaded with soap, paper towels, laundry supplies and personal care items monthly at the COOL Food Pantries.
